Automotive Entry Technician, Certificate of Professional Competency

The Automotive Entry Technician program is a competency-based noncredit program designed by local industry experts and employers to best ensure that students get and keep a job at the end of training. The program mirrors a real-world workplace as closely as possible.  All program standards have been set to match the performance expectations of workers in the field. Students will become Automotive Entry Technicians only after demonstrating they have mastered the essential knowledge, skills and behavior shared by the industry’s highest-performing workers. These standards are set by expert workers, employer endorsed, and are carefully crafted into a professional training program that is centered on student success.

The Automotive Entry Technician program takes approximately 12 months to complete. Topics include: Automotive Fundamentals, Transmissions & Drivelines, HVAC Maintenance, Automotive Electrical Service & Maintenance, Steering, Suspension & Brakes, Fuel System Maintenance and Cooling System Service, and also features a required Professional Practicum. The Professional Practicum provides a broad-based hands-on experience in a real workplace.
