This certificate program is designed for undergraduate degree holders from accredited institutions who wish to pursue a career in accountancy as a Certified Public Accountant. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have met the education requirements mandated by the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy and will be entitled to sit for the CPA examination. This program, however, is not designed to prepare the student for the CPA examination. Passing the exam may require significant effort beyond the program, including the use of study guides, review courses, etc.

Graduates are able to:

  • examine accounting information as a basis for economic decision making
  • record business transactions resulting in financial statements
  • complete the required accounting and business education to sit for the CPA exam in New Jersey

This degree is offered through the Business and Public Service Department, whose mission is to provide challenging career-oriented undergraduate programs to business and public service students, educating them to the level of competency needed for successful transfer to four year institutions or immediate career path entry into the global market.
