COMM 121 - Presentation Skills for Business & the Professions(3,0) 3 Credits Prerequisite(s): COMM 101 - Speech or equivalent training or experience. Presentation Skills for Business and the Professions provides students with the theory and practice of oral communication skills that are essential for entry level positions as well as advancement in today’s business and professional careers. Content will include interviewing, leading and participating in meetings and discussions, and presenting material before a business or professional audience. Exercises and activities include speaking from prepared texts or notes, as well as extemporaneous speaking. Students will also work in groups to develop, research, organize, and deliver a business presentation to an invited audience. Students will work with a variety of audio/visual aids, including flip charts, and computer graphics and video. Presentations will be video-recorded for reviewing and critiquing.
