Computer Support, Certificate


The Computer Support Certificate program prepares students for careers in IT support, desktop computing, and networking. Combining coursework in English, computer literacy, and interpersonal communication with hands-on training in hardware, software, networking, and web development, the program equips students with the skills to install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, manage networks and cloud-based platforms, and maintain secure computing environments. Graduates also develop expertise in web development, digital literacy, professional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving, including practical experience through cooperative education. This program prepares students to meet the technology support needs of organizations across a variety of industries. Graduates of this program are prepared to take the tests for the vendor-neutral CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and Microsoft AZ  800 certification.

Graduates are able to:

  • demonstrate the ability to install, configure, secure, and troubleshoot desktop hardware, software, and basic network systems to support organizational technology needs.
  • apply foundational networking concepts, cloud computing principles, and information security practices, including privacy, ethics, and computer forensics, to maintain reliable and secure computing environments.
  • create and manage web-based and digital content.
  • effectively communicate technical information while demonstrating professionalism and teamwork in collaborative settings.
  • apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to real-world technical challenges through practical projects or cooperative education experiences.
