This one-year program prepares students for employment in the banking industry, brokerage and mortgage firms and other financial organizations. Students who complete the Financial Services Certificate of Completion will have the knowledge for entry-level positions as credit administrators, credit analysts, operational officers, assistant branch managers, and customer service representatives. Customer service representatives and loan officers will be in great demand, and advancement opportunities will accelerate for those who continue their education and demonstrate knowledge, interpersonal skills, and professional commitment. The credits earned in this certificate program can be used toward the A.A.S. in Business Management - Financial Services Option program.
NOTE: This program is intended for students already possessing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business who are interested in specializing in or changing their career track to Finance. Students not already possessing the appropriate prerequisite courses (Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting) in this program will be required to complete the prerequisite coursework.
Graduates are able to:
• analyze financial information in support of corporate decision-making
• devise courses of action to mitigate financial risk factors
• assess the financial implications of proposed corporate strategies
This degree is offered through the Business and Public Service Department, whose mission is to provide challenging, career-oriented undergraduate programs to business and public service students, educating them to the level of competency needed for an immediate career path entry into the global market.
NOTE: Students in this program may not be eligible for Financial Aid; students should meet with an Academic Advisor or Financial Aid staff to discuss options for Financial Aid eligibility.
