The Associate of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) prepares students to transfer as juniors into the NJIT Bachelor of Science program in Engineering Technology, in either the Mechanical Engineering Technology or the Manufacturing Engineering Technology pathway.  The MET program is designed for students interested in a hands-on and application-oriented engineering career in a broad range of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering fields, including: design, test and evaluation, manufacturing, production engineering, operations, maintenance, technical marketing, and sales.

The RVCC MET program provides a pathway for high school students in the RVCC Mechatronics, Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing (MEAM) program to earn an Associate Degree, transfer to a four-year Engineering Technology program, and enter into a career in the Engineering industry.

Graduates are able to:

  • apply the fundamental principles of calculus, physics, engineering mechanics, and materials    science to the solution of engineering problems
  • use the computer as a tool to aid in the solution of engineering design problems
  • conduct standard tests and measurements of materials, and analyze and interpret results.
  • communicate written and graphical information clearly and concisely

Raritan Valley Community College Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degree programs are designed to comply with the New Jersey Community Colleges General Education Foundation which supports transfer of courses to NJ Public four-year colleges and universities.  Students who intend to transfer to a NJ college or university can further improve the transfer of courses by using the Recommended Transfer Program (RTP) feature in NJTransfer.org.
