OPTH 290 - Internship in Ophthalmic Science

(1 Lecture, 2 Lab, Worksite: 70 Hours Total) 3 Credits

Prerequisite(s): Permission and placement by the Program Coordinator and minimum grade of C or higher in OPTH 111 - Ophthalmic Dispensing I Lecture and OPTH 115 - Ophthalmic Dispensing I Lab .
A clinical experience in which the student is placed in an optician’s practice. Specific evaluations of student objectives are conducted in a weekly consultation with the Program Coordinator. In addition, lecture topics will include business concepts and current technology. Minimum grade of C required.
