OLST 202 - Overhead Line/Substation Technology IV

Prerequisite(s): OLST 201 - Overhead Line/Substation Technology III .
This course provides the skills to safely climb transmission support towers and H-structures to achieve the qualified status. Upon qualification, the student will obtain basic skills to perform intermediate tasks while aloft on these pertinent structures. The student will gain an understanding of substation equipment and one-line drawing. Emphasis will be placed on recognizing energized equipment, minimum approach distances, and substation safety. At the conclusion of the course, the student will be qualified to enter a substation. Included in this course of instruction are: lockout/tagout, powered industrial truck certification(s), and a comprehensive skills review.
