General Education Course: Social Science, Global and Cultural Awareness
Prerequsite/ Corerequisite: Placement into ENGL 111 English Composition I with ENGL 070 English Composition I Workshop , or higher.
The course examines the origins and social evolution of Native American societies. Special emphasis is placed upon the consequences of contact with Euro-American societies and the social, economic and political conditions of contemporary Native Americans. Past and current ethical aspects of Euro-American contact with Native Americans is also explored. Also covered are the contributions of Native Americans to cultures around the world.
