PHIL 240 - Science as a Way of Knowing

(3,0) 3 Credits
Prerequisite(s): PHIL 101 - Introduction to Philosophy  or PHIL 103 - Introduction to Formal Logic .
This course examines the history, nature, and method of science, and the relationship between science and philosophy. Among the topics covered are (1) the Greek revolution in thought; (2) the rise of modern science; (3) the nature of reasoning and scientific method; and (4) the relationship of science to philosophy and to human values.
