EHRC 105 - History of Health Information Technology in the U.S.

Prerequisites and/or Corequisites: HLTH 101 - Healthcare Delivery Systems  , HLTH 150 - Medical Terminology  , CISY 102 - Computer Literacy  .
This course is component five of the Federally developed six-month certificate of completion program in Electronic Health Records. This program is designed for students with an existing background in the health field or the information technology field.
This course traces the development of IT systems in health care and public health, beginning with the experiments of the 1950s and 1960s and culminating in the HITECH Act.  Introduces the concept of meaningful use.
